Name is built for a full name. Most RSVPs and applications use it near the top of the form.

1. Add it

In Build, click Add a question, then choose Name. See How to add questions.

2. On the form

The field is on the canvas. Question settings opens so you can write the prompt, add hint text, and mark it required.

3. What it is for

People enter their name. Formms treats it as a name field, not a generic short line.

4. Edit and require

Click the field to change the wording. Hover it to duplicate or delete. Required questions show a red asterisk. Optional ones do not.

Pair it with Email when you need to get back to someone.

5. Ask AI

In create a form with AI, describe the form and name this type. On a form you already have, open Chat to Edit (the pencil next to Add a question) and ask in a sentence.

Example:

6. Read the draft

The helper replies with a Draft card. Each field shows its type. Check that Name is in the list. Click Create this form when you want it. Close if you were only trying a prompt. That does not add a form.
