Add each homework, quiz, midterm, or project with the score you earned (0–100).
Use the weight from your syllabus (percent or points). Weights do not need to total 100 yet if work is still outstanding.
See the weighted percentage, letter grade, and 4.0-scale GPA points for that course.
Match how your syllabus actually weights homework, quizzes, and exams.
Uses Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight), the same weighted average teachers use in most gradebooks.
If only some categories are graded, enter what you have. Weights are normalized over the items you include.
Converts the percentage to a common US letter scale and matching 4.0 GPA points.

Grade = Σ (score × weight) ÷ Σ weight
Score is a percentage (0–100). Weight is the syllabus share for that item. If weights already sum to 100, the division by Σ weight is the familiar “percent of the course” math.
It computes a weighted average: multiply each score by its weight, add those products, then divide by the sum of the weights.
Example: homework 85 at 20% and midterm 92 at 30% → (85×20 + 92×30) ÷ (20+30) = 89.2%.
No. Enter the weights from your syllabus as written. The calculator divides by the total weight of the rows you filled in, so a partial term still produces a current standing.
A common US scale: A+/A/A− through D−/F, with 4.0 GPA points (A = 4.0, A− = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, and so on).
Your school may use different cutoffs. Treat the letter as a guide, not an official transcript grade.
Convert to a percentage first (earned ÷ possible × 100), then enter that percentage as the score. Weight stays whatever the syllabus assigns that item.
