Frequently asked questions
What percent is an A?
On this tool’s common US scale, A− starts at 90%, A at 93%, and A+ at 97%. Many schools use a flat 90–100 = A without plus/minus.
What percent is a B, C, or D?
B band 80–89 (B−/B/B+), C band 70–79 with C+ at 77–79, C at 73–76, C− at 70–72, D band 60–69 with the same plus/minus splits, and F below 60. See the full table on the page.
Does A+ give more than 4.0 GPA?
Not on this calculator. A+ and A are both 4.0, which matches many US universities. Some schools weight A+ higher; enter custom points in the GPA tool if yours does.
