How to create a form with AI

Describe the form in a sentence or two, in any language. Formms drafts the title, question types, and wording in that language, unless you ask for a different one. Read the draft before you share it.

To start from scratch instead, create a form from scratch. You can also import a form.

1. Open New form

On my.form.ms, click + New form. On iPhone or Android, tap + Create a form.

2. Describe what you need

The helper asks for three things: what the form is for (registration, feedback, an application, a contact form), who will fill it in, and what you need to collect.

Example:

Create a customer feedback form for Harbor & Rye Cafe. Customers who just visited will fill it in. Collect name (optional), email, visit type (coffee, brunch, dinner, takeaway), star rating for food, star rating for service, would they recommend us (yes/no), and one thing we could improve. Warm and short.

Write in the language you want on the form. If you describe it in Japanese, the draft comes back in Japanese. If you write in English but want the questions in Spanish, say that in the prompt, for example "Write the form in Spanish."

3. Review the draft, then create

The AI replies with a Draft card: title, question count, and each field with its type. Send another message if something is off. When it looks right, click Create this form. Close the dialog if you are only checking a prompt. That discards the draft and does not add a form.

4. Edit in the builder

You can still change every label by hand. Chat to Edit (the pencil next to +) revises the whole form in chat, including into another language if you ask.

Preview, then publish. After the first publish, the toolbar keeps Preview and drops Publish. A draft has no public link until you publish.

The helper copy can mention payments or signatures. Those are not question types in the picker. Use the types in Add questions.
