# How to create a form from scratch

If you already know the questions, you can skip the AI draft and build the form
yourself. Click + New form, then Start blank. On iPhone or Android, tap + Create
a form, then Scratch.

You can still create a form with AI

would rather describe it. You can also import a form
[https://formms.help.center/article/1015-how-to-import-a-form] from a public
Google Form, Typeform, or Tally link.


1. OPEN NEW FORM

Go to my.form.ms [https://my.form.ms/] and click + New form. On iPhone or
Android, tap + Create a form.


2. START BLANK

In the dialog, click Start blank. On iPhone or Android, tap Scratch. That opens
an empty form instead of asking you to describe one.


3. NAME THE FORM

You land in Build. Click the title and description at the top. The placeholder
title is Untitled form. Until you publish, the dashboard card shows Draft, and
the toolbar still has Publish.


4. ADD QUESTIONS AND PREVIEW

Use the black + button to insert fields. You need at least one question before
you can publish. Click Preview form (the eye) to see what respondents will get.
Preview works on a draft. There is no public link yet.

The first time you click Publish, Formms opens Share with the short form.ms URL.
After that, Publish is gone and Preview stays. If you open Share before
publishing, you get Ready to go live instead of a link.

People filling it in do not need the app or an account. Next: share a link or QR
